We’re so excited to share some pictures today from Eric and Kelley’s polka dotted, cannoli filled, gelato loving, memory making wedding! This couple’s ceremony and reception was held at The Old Silk Mill, right near our studio in downtown Fredericksburg. The location is beautiful but we absolutely loved how Eric and Kelley made it their own.
With some help from family and friends, Eric and Kelley decided to forego the location’s usual decorations and string lights through the rafters of this beautiful old building. Huge centerpieces filled with white and yellow flowers lay center stage at each table on top of handmade black and white table cloths!
It’s hard to compress into a few paragraphs all the details we loved about this wedding but we’ll give it a shot. Try this on for size: a live band kept the Motown playing and the guests dancing. A buffet of Italian pastry delights and a gelato booth provided by Fredericksburg’s own Italian market, Basilico, didn’t just taste amazing but brought some whimsy to the (literal) table. A shingle from the bride’s childhood doll house – which was built by her late father – was sewn to the inside of her dress as a way to keep him with her throughout the day. THE DRESS. I don’t typically wax on about every bride’s dress because they are all so beautiful but this dress was perfect. I love the shorter style of the dress which was so unique yet classic.
We were able to get a lot of formals done early which always makes the rest of the day move along smoother. Some of our favorite photographs from the day were actually taken in an alley behind Hardees! Just goes to show that perspective is key!
Congratulations again to Eric and Kelley – We were so happy to witness your happy day!
