Meet Sarah & Mike… or as we like to call them, Grace Kelly & James bond.
Sarah has such a timeless beauty which inspired us to find an old Grace Kelly portrait to try to emulate. Mike is training to be a pilot and they were able to incorporate that through out their day. Their theme was “Fly me to the Moon” including lots of cool details like ribbon streamers and airplanes. We found one photo opportunity after another as we walked with Sarah and Mike and their wedding party from St. George’s down to Fredericksburg Square. Favorite memory: First dance ended with everyone throwing paper airplanes around the new couple. Sarah and Mike you were picture perfect. Thank you for allowing us to be part of it all!

Kelsey & Justin

We met Kelsey and Justin for a sunrise session early in the morning in Alexandria. We couldn’t have asked for a better background! Sunbeams and warm romantic lighting were in each shot. We can’t wait for their wedding at Morais Vineyards this coming fall!

While we were spending time with them we got to talk to them about their wedding plans. Do you ever attend a wedding that makes you want to plan your big day all over again? The details for this wedding are definitely getting a lot of attention and are inspired by their personalities! We can’t wait to celebrate with them and see everything put together!

You may remember these two from photos we’ve taken before or even recognized them from our Kitt Creative banner if you’ve seen us at wedding shows! This is Sara and Jonathan, one of the sweetest couples we ever met and we’re so happy to share with you that they are expecting a little bundle of joy soon! We met up with them in Alexandria to take maternity photos and we’re so happy with the results.

Drew & Kate are getting hitched!

We had the opportunity to take Drew and Kate’s engagement photos just in time before their wedding this weekend. These two are one of those couples you just have to smile at when you see them together. They met at University of Mary Washington and so downtown fredericksburg was special for them. They are perfectly in love and clearly made for each other! We love getting to do engagement photos with the bride and groom to be. It’s such a sweet opportunity to get to really know each couple and to get a feel for what makes their relationship unique.

Drew and Kate are getting married in Yorktown Va at The Customs House and will have a reception to follow at Yorktown Freight Shed. They already have so much planned for their big day and we can’t wait to see all the details pulled together. Moire & Garry

Moire and Garry are getting married this weekend and we are so excited to be a part of their big day! I can’t believe it’s been over a year that they came into the studio for the first time! They are the sweetest couple and when we met them that day we just knew we were going to become friends.

We did their engagement session last fall and they were naturals. We actually renamed some of our poses after being inspired by their engagement session. Keep an eye out for the Zach Morris pose, my personal favorite! We love how their engagement photos turned out. Check them out below!

Catherine & Kevin

Catherine & Kevin are to be wed this weekend at the beautiful Stevenson Ridge in Spotsylvania, Va.
We had a great time taking pictures downtown and getting to know this sweet couple!
Engagement sessions are awesome as it allows for our couples to get comfortable in front of the camera for the first time without the pressure of wedding festivities. Another plus of an engagement sessions is that we get to spend time relaxing and enjoying each couple and getting to know what makes their relationship unique. So now we can feel like we’re getting to shoot our friend’s wedding. This can only add to the depth of the pictures on their big day! We had a lot of fun walking around downtown Fredericksburg with these guys. Sorry to make you bonk your heads, but it’s one of our favorite pictures!

Victoria

We are so excited to share with you one of our latest High School Senior session! Victoria was so much fun to photograph and brought a ton of personality along with her. She loves the guitar and has an interest in photography, so she not only brought fun props but she also knew what to do in front of the camera! We love that she somehow managed to channel Patsy Cline and a little classic Hollywood glamour in the same session!

For Victoria’s session we wandered around our own “backyard” in downtown Fredericksburg. Some of our favorites were taken in front of the train station. There were so many awesome shots of Victoria in all of her classic Hollywood glory with the train whizzing by. It was straight out of a black and white movie!

Once again, hair, makeup, and wardrobe selections were done by the amazing Kemi of Bright Beauty Makeup. We love how she makes each session feel like a fashion shoot and her expertise in makeup really highlighted one of my favorite features – Victoria’s stunning crystal blue eyes!

In fact, blue seemed to be a theme in this photo shoot: blue eyes, blue guitars, blue walls and blue scarves. We loved that this punch of color tied the whole photo shoot together!

Laura

You know that girl? The one who’s pretty AND talented? Yeah, we do too. Her name is Laura Pierce and not only is a wife and mom, but also an incredibly talented designer.

Laura is a genius when it comes to working with colors and shapes. Not only does she design jewelry and floral arrangements in her spare time but she is continually helping us design our studio space! When we first moved in to our studio it was just one giant empty space. Enter Laura, who saw past the emptiness and helped us create an awesome office and studio space! Thanks to her, our studio has become a living breathing thing, changing to fit our needs and always feeling warm and inviting to our clients.

For her session we decided to use a wall she painted for the background and even some of the paint supplies she used. We are so inspired by her style and how she captures her “art” in everything!

Her session is one of a series we will be doing here at Kitt Creative on Artists that we love! Stay tuned for more!

Anita

Today we’d like to introduce to you Anita, another session that falls in the Professional Artist category. Anita runs a design company called B2Squared Design. More specifically, Anita designs amazing invitations for weddings and has sold her work to well-known companies like Crane and Minted! Anita came to us looking for some head shots for a magazine she was being featured in and we were happy to oblige!

We knew we wanted her session to be fresh and unique so we decided to get a variety of shots, some in the studio and some outside. Anita was so much fun to work with and I love that she decided on bringing her hat. Those turned out to be some of our favorite images!

Jermaine

Poet and blogger, Jermaine joined us recently in the studio and we had a blast! He’s one of those people you just want to know what’s on his mind. We enjoyed putting together some concepts for his session to incorporate things that illustrate who he is.

His love of the written word, his sense of humor and his family are what inspired us for this photo session. We love how you can see in these photos what defines him as an artist, as a father, and as a husband.
